Venture Dog Walking was born based on the needs of my personal journey into pet parenthood, when I got my first fur baby - Winnie (German Shepherd, pictured on the right). When I got Winnie, I was living in Greensboro, commuting 40 minutes to work everyday in Burlington. It “wasn’t a great time” to get a puppy, but let’s be honest - it never is. Small things started to add up - figuring out how to get home at lunch (it was rarely possible), panicking at the last-minute-but-essential vet trips, trying to make sure Winnie was socialized and exposed to new places and experiences in those first few critical months. A company was started to take shape in my mind about how to serve pet parents in their day-in-day-out needs in all the ways I personally had needed help.

These ideas manifested into reality when I moved to Winston-Salem soon after and started a small, one-woman dog walking operation called Ardmore Dog Walking & Pet Services. For 2.5 years we grew as a company, predominantly serving the Ardmore neighborhood in Winston Salem. We learned a lot those first few years - what we do best as a company, how to manage and train our people, and what our clients needed to be the best pet-parents they can be in their day-to-day lives.

In Spring 2020, my other fur baby (Whitaker, pictured to the left), began to get sick. What started as some minor issues quickly became serious, which quickly became a terminal situation. In the months of his decline, a team member was at my house every day spending time with him so that I was able to continue working and being where I needed to be. One day I realized this is another pet-parent need that we could do - company for their pets in the most vulnerable times.

With this realization, it became clear that the next phase of our company was to expand our service area so that we could help more pet-parents. We launched to the rest of Winston Salem in Spring 2020, and surrounding communities in Fall 2020. We now serve Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Lewisville, Clemmons, Pfafftown, Rural Hall, Bethania, and areas of High Point and Jamestown, NC.

Our mission is to help owners be the kind of pet-parent they want to be. We all need help sometimes - even in the best of things, like caring for our furry family.
